Navodaya English High School and Junior College, Thane organized a
Community Cleanliness Drive under the mission of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
introduced by the Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on the
the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, 2nd October 2021.
The main objective of this programme was to spread awareness among the
students about the significance of Cleanliness and its benefits. The school
committee members, Principal, teachers, non-teaching staff along with the
students from classes 9th to 12th had participated in the program organised by
our school in association with Helping Hands and Rotary Club, Thane. Our
school actively participated in this cleanliness drive by cleaning the
surrounding localities, chowk & Nana Nani Park in order to achieve a
healthier, greener, and better India. It was successfully organised with the
combined efforts of the Principal, staff, teachers, and students collectively.
The students of std 6th & 7th also contributed their efforts in spreading the
awareness by helping their parents in cleaning the homes and their surroundings
and by sending their photos of cleaning activities to their respective class
teachers. Cleanliness is something that must not be forced but
encouraged. The habit of keeping oneself and our surroundings clean helps us to
stay refreshed, healthy and hygienic. The main purpose of this programme was
to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits. In
short, cleanliness is vital for one’s health and spiritual development. In addition
to this, it is also essential for the environmental development of our country.
